Bloomestates breakfast has become renown over the years and our fluffy eggs in "all over the world" combinations have surprised many of our guests...
On request there are lunches or small platters available, and for evening dinners the owners can recommend many of the surrounding restaurants, from fine dining to simple, yet delicious dinners.

You will find an extensive list with the (local) specialties each restaurant has to offer in your room.

To see....

Swellendam is the third oldest town in South Africa and its centre boasts many historical buildings.
The award winning Drostdy Museum offers the interested visitor an extensive overview of the history covered in- and outside its buildings. A historic walking tour is available.
Swellendam and its surroundings attracts many artists and you will find many galleries and art exhibitions, which make it an added pleasure to browse around in town.

The nearby Bontebok National Park is a beautiful place to see game and birds, and to relax on the banks of the Breede River. Views in the Marloth Nature Reserve are spectacular.

If the town is not big enough for you, you can make endless road trips, of which the mountain tour over the Tradouw Pass is a favorite. Another favorite is the day trip to De Hoop Nature Reserve.  Take a fully stocked picnic basket with you and drive the scenic route through the rolling fields of the Overberg to this white dune bedecked sea side place on the Indian Ocean. Loads of whales can be spotted in the season, and the natural beaches and coves are right up there with the most beautiful and romantic spots in the world.

To play....

Active golfers won't be disappointed by playing the beautiful 9 hole golf course (soon to be extended to 18 holes), situated with spectacular views over the Langeberg Mountains, a hidden gem for golf enthusiasts…

Horse riding can be organised in the nearby Langeberg Mountains with tailor made tours available for experienced and first time riders.

Swellendam is a paradise for hikers, trained or untrained, and we will supply you with suggestions. Right on our door step are the mountains of the Marloth Nature Reserve with walks to waterfalls, and an abundance of wild flowers to feast your eyes upon.

Also nearby is the Bontebok National Park, cradled between the Langeberg Mountains and the Breede River. This park is home to the rare Bontebok, but there are also zebras, rebooks, grysboks, red hartebeest and teams with birdlife. Swimming and picnics are possible on the banks of the river.

For the young ones there is the renowned Sulina Faerie Sanctuary, where they can immerse themselves in the dream world of elves, pixies and gnomes.

In berry picking season the berry farms of the nearby Hermitage Valley are open to everyone who like to get stuck in, and hear how the berries end up in delicious jams, liquors and sauces.
